How to get out of my lease?
By Kristy
I currently am living with two roommates, in September of 2011 I asked them if my boyfriend could move into our apartment and he would help us with our bills but we never added him onto our lease as it was going to bump up our rent. Well a couple months after he moved in there was some tension and finally a fight that ended up happening between my boyfriend and one of my roommates. She told him she doesnt want him in our apartment anymore, but since we lived together my boyfriend and I share everything. Well now I am paying rent for an apartment that I am never at anymore. Now I am suppose to have my apartment until June 2012. I am no longer wanting to live in my apartment and want to move out. But my leasing office says that the only way I can move out is if we all put our apartment up for rent. But my one roommate who got into it with my boyfriend is refusing to let me and my other roommate sign out of our lease. I was wondering that in the state of Wisconsin if there is any way that we can pay an amount to let us out of our lease or if there is a way we can get around so that we can break our contracted lease? I just need to have some options because I am frustrated paying for a place that I am no longer living in. Please help!
