Landlord removes property
By anonymous
My girlfriend and I lived in a rental house in Macon, GA. Her parents were the landlords. We signed a lease agreement. The lease agreement stated that they were only allowed to enter the property with limited notification and under emergency circumstances only. We had previously borrowed some yard games from a friend. We were storing them in our house. I had been away for a while for work and my girlfriend had been with me as well. Our friend contacted us asking us for the games back. We told him we would be back in town in a few days and gave him a specific date when we would call him and get the games to him. He was cool with it. A few days later we learned that after contacting us he contacted my GF’s parents, our landlords, and had them go to our house and go inside and remove the property and get it back to him. They olbiged. Her father has admitted to entering the house taking the games and says it is his house and he can do whatever he wants. There relationship, gf and parents had been going south for a while. They are control FREAKS!!! and are psycho. I need to know if this violated my lease agreement. We moved out on October 31 with one month left on the lease agreement. We told them they didn’t have permission to come on our property unannounced. They are demanding the rent for November the last month of the lease. Do I have a case?
