Mold and major leak
By Jenna
The home I am renting has a major leak and black mold. I first noticed the black mold in a downstairs laundry room. A day or so later I noticed the carpet in the connected room closet was wet. I took everything out of the closet and since then it has gotten progressively worse. I notified my landlord and property manager the same day I saw the mold. I told them who to call to get it fixed. It has been 2 months now. The room with the leak is almost unbearable. It happens to be my office where I am 10 hours a day. With no shoes on your feet will be fully submerged in water and has been this was for a month and a half. I continue to suck out the water with my carpet cleaner to help a little. My entire downstairs smells like a sewer. My door frames are yellow, swollen, and they have calcium bursting out of the wood. The same is happening to the counters in the laundry room and the bathroom in the room. The owners of my house got denied from there insurance as they never tried to stop the leak which caused all this damage. There are cheap and truthfully I do not think that they can afford to fix. What are my options here? Where can I go to report them? Any info would be great. Thank You Jenna
