Is LanCan I sue Landlord?

By Carol K

I cannot take my couch with me when I move as it has bedbugs & the Landlord I feel is responsoble for infestations on his property.  Can i sue him for cost of new couch due to his negligence in regards to bednug problem?  Please advise.

Thank you.,

Hey Carol!
I totally understand how pissed you are to have bought a new couch because of bed bug infestation!!
I’m not sure if you can collect a payment for your new couch from the previous landlord.
I’d suggest calling the Colorado Community Housing Services at (303) 831-1750 or Tenant Landlord Counseling at (303) 237-0230 . If you want to file a complaint put your request to the landlord in writing as this is legally necessary. It’s the most important thing “documentation and rendering legal notice of the problem”. Best of luck! 😉
