Landllord will not refund money
By Jasmine Laster
I rented at a property last year while finishing my last year of college and paid semesterly, however, I ended up paying more than I was suppose to. I have a receipt showing an excess balance of about 4 grand from the apartment, however, now after I moved after my apartment they are stating that the account balance is 0, when just last month. I keep calling the account manager but they keep giving me the run around . Im trying to find my bank statements to show the overpayment, but Im not having luck finding it. I still have the receipts from the apartment though, showing the excess balance. What should I do?
Thanks,
Jasmine

File a complaint with the RPA. This should help. |

It’s good that you keep all your receipts. If they don’t answer your call, send them a letter regarding your concern. Make sure that you have a copy of it. Gather proofs to prove your side, aside from the receipts. If nothing happens after doing this, then file a complaint. You can file a complaint through RPA to resolve your problem. The complaint option might be more effective because it poses the possibility of staining the landlords public record if they don’t act fairly.
